Job Summary:
The Social Services Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating social service programs within the field of anthropology. This role requires a deep understanding of social sciences, particularly anthropology, and the ability to effectively manage and lead a diverse team of social service professionals. The Social Services Manager will collaborate with various stakeholders to develop and implement strategies, policies, and programs that address the social needs of individuals and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and evaluate social service programs based on anthropological research and best practices.
2. Supervise and provide guidance to a team of social service professionals, ensuring high-quality service delivery and adherence to ethical standards.
3. Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify social service needs and develop appropriate intervention strategies.
4. Conduct regular assessments to measure the effectiveness of social service programs and make recommendations for improvement.
5. Stay up-to-date with current research, trends, and developments in the field of anthropology and social sciences to inform program development and implementation.
6. Manage program budgets, including allocation of resources and monitoring expenditure to ensure financial sustainability.
7. Foster strong relationships with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and promote collaboration.
8. Provide training and professional development opportunities for social service staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
9. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to social service programs.
10. Prepare and present reports, data analysis, and other relevant information to stakeholders, including senior management and funding agencies.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Social Sciences, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Proven experience in managing social service programs, preferably within the field of anthropology.
3. In-depth knowledge and understanding of anthropological theories, research methodologies, and their application in social service settings.
4. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on evidence-based decision-making.
7. Ability to work collaboratively and build partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
8. Proficient in project management, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
9. Sound financial management skills, including budgeting and resource allocation.
10. High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
